Ingredients:
Self-rising flour 2 ½ cups
Butter 1 cup
Sugar 1 cup
Salt a pinch
Baking powder 2 teaspoons
Coffee 2 teaspoons
Eggs 4
Milk ¾ cup
Icing:
Icing sugar 3 tablespoons
Cream 400ml
Walnuts for garnishing ½ cup chopped
Direction:
In a bowl separate egg yolks and egg
whites. Beat them separately and then mix them in one bowl and again beat them.
Now add sugar in it and beat it till all smooth. In another bowl sieve the
flour, salt and baking powder and then add coffee and melted butter mixes them
with the spatula. Add this in the egg mixture, beat well after adding milk in
it. In a greased baking pan pour the mixture and bake it in a preheated oven at
180 C for 15-25 minutes.
Icing:
In a bowl take cream and beat it. When
it changes its texture and becomes fluffy add sugar and coffee in it and again
beat it.
When cake ready let it cool for 30
minutes and then cut the sponge from the middle. Now cover the middle part with
icing then cover it with the other part and again cover it with icing. Garnish with
walnuts and let it cool in refrigerator.
