Chocolate pudding

Servings:

  • Makes 4 servings

Ingredients:

  • ¾ cup refined flour (or 40 grams)
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • ½ cup caster sugar (or 125 grams)
  • 1 slightly beaten egg
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 60 grams butter
  • 60 grams slightly heated sugar

Directions:

  1. Preheat the Oven:

    • Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Prepare Dry Ingredients:

    • In a bowl, mix together flour, 1 tbsp cocoa powder, and caster sugar (125 grams). Stir well to combine.
  3. Add Wet Ingredients:

    • Add the beaten egg, milk, and butter to the flour mixture. Stir until smooth.
  4. Prepare the Cocoa and Sugar Mix:

    • In another bowl, mix the remaining 1 tbsp cocoa powder with the slightly heated sugar. Pour this mixture over the flour mixture.
  5. Add Boiling Water:

    • Carefully pour 2/4 cup of boiling water into the pudding mixture, making sure it’s evenly distributed.
  6. Bake the Pudding:

    • Place the bowl in a baking tray and bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until set.
  7. Serve:

    • Once the pudding is done, remove it from the oven.
    • Serve it warm with cream or ice cream.
