Pasta with Cheese Sauce
Pasta with Cheese Sauce

150 grams pasta shapes
500ml water
3 tablespoon dried milk powder
50 gram margarine or butter
50 gram plain flour
100 gram cheese
Salt and black pepper to taste


In a saucepan of boiling water add pasta shapes. Boil for 10-12 minutes. Then drain the cooked pastas. Fill the jug with water up to 500ml mark. Add milk powder and mix thoroughly. Grate the cheese onto a plate. Put margarine or butter and flour in a saucepan and add the milk. Mix with the wire whisk. The mixture will look rather lumpy at this stage. Over to medium to high heat, whisk the mixture all the time as the margarine or butter melts, and the sauce heats up. When the sauce has started to boil and to thicken, turn the heat down low and simmer for 1 minute. Keep whisking all the time. Take the pan off the cooker and add the cheese, salt and pepper. Mix well and let the cheese melt. Add the cooked pastas, stir again and serve.
