Mango Mousse
A light, creamy, and velvety dessert bursting with tropical mango flavor, perfect for summer or any special occasion!
Servings: 4-6
Total Time: 3-4 hours (including chilling)
Ingredients:
- 1 cup mango puree (fresh or canned, blended smooth)
- ½ cup sugar (adjust to taste)
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream (chilled)
- ½ cup condensed milk (adds richness)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice (enhances flavor)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon gelatin powder
- ¼ cup cold water
- Few drops of yellow/orange food coloring (optional)
- Mango cubes & mint leaves for garnish
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Gelatin:
- Sprinkle gelatin over cold water and let it bloom for 5 minutes.
- Heat gently until dissolved (do not boil), then set aside to cool slightly.
2. Make the Mango Base:
- In a bowl, mix mango puree, sugar, lemon juice, and vanilla extract.
- Add the melted gelatin to the mango mixture and stir well.
3. Whip the Cream & Combine:
- In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form.
- Gently fold the whipped cream and condensed milk into the mango mixture.
4. Set & Chill:
- Pour the mousse into serving glasses or a large dish.
- Refrigerate for 3-4 hours (or until set).
5. Garnish & Serve:
- Top with fresh mango cubes, whipped cream, and a mint leaf before serving!
