Crispy Chicken Basket Bites

Ingredients:

  • 200g Chicken (boneless, finely chopped)
  • 1 Potato (peeled and grated)
  • 1 Bell Pepper (finely chopped)
  • 1 Carrot (grated)
  • 1/2 Cup Green Beans (finely chopped)
  • 1/2 Tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 Tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 1/2 Tsp Salt
  • 1/2 Tsp Black Pepper
  • 2 Red Chilies (finely chopped)
  • 10-12 Samosa Patti (thinly sliced into strips)
  • Cooking Oil (for deep frying)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the filling:
In a bowl, combine the chopped chicken, grated potato, bell pepper, grated carrot, and green beans. Add garlic powder, soy sauce, salt, black pepper, and red chilies. Mix everything thoroughly to form a smooth, slightly creamy texture. Add a little water to achieve a silky consistency, but not too thick or thin.

  2. Prepare the samosa patti nest:
Take the samosa patti and slice them into thin strips. Take a small portion of the chicken mixture and carefully arrange it with the samosa patti strips in a nest-like shape, ensuring the filling is covered by the patti and the strips form a delicate, nest structure.

  3. Deep fry the nests:
Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully drop the chicken-filled nests into the oil. Fry until golden and crispy on all sides, about 4-5 minutes. Ensure the nests cook evenly by turning them occasionally.

  4. Drain and Serve:
Remove the chicken baskets from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve hot as an appetizer or snack.
