Tahini (Sesame Seed Paste)

Tahini is a smooth, nutty-flavored sesame seed paste used in Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisine. Perfect for dips like hummus, dressings, or drizzling over roasted veggies!


Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sesame seeds
  • 2–4 tablespoons olive oil (or neutral oil)
  • Pinch of salt (optional)

Instructions:

1️⃣ Toast the Sesame Seeds:

  • Heat a dry pan over medium-low heat.
  • Add sesame seeds and toast for 3–5 minutes, stirring frequently, until golden and fragrant.
  • Let them cool slightly.

2️⃣ Blend into a Paste:

  • Transfer toasted seeds to a food processor or blender.
  • Pulse until a crumbly texture forms.

3️⃣ Add Oil & Blend Smooth:

  • Drizzle in olive oil gradually while blending.
  • Continue until you get a smooth, creamy consistency.
  • Add a pinch of salt if desired.

4️⃣ Store & Enjoy:

  • Transfer to a jar and store in the fridge for up to 1 month.
  • Use in hummus, salad dressings, or as a spread!
