Chicken Chow Mien
Ingredients
- 8 oz (225g) chow mein noodles
- 1 cup (150g) cooked chicken breast, sliced
- 2 tbsp (30ml) vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup (75g) shredded carrots
- 1/2 cup (75g) bell peppers, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup (50g) bean sprouts
- 1/4 cup (25g) chopped green onions
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp grated ginger
Sauce
- 3 tbsp (45ml) soy sauce
- 1 tbsp (15ml) hoisin sauce
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Cook chow mein noodles according to package instructions, then drain and set aside.
- Heat 1 tbsp oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat. Add chicken and stir-fry for 2 minutes until golden. Remove and set aside.
- Add the remaining oil, then sauté garlic and ginger for 30 seconds. Add carrots, bell peppers, and bean sprouts. Stir-fry for 2 minutes.
- Add the cooked noodles and chicken back to the pan. Pour in the sauce ingredients and toss everything together.
- Stir-fry for another 2 minutes, ensuring the noodles are well coated.
- Garnish with green onions and serve hot.
