Chocolate Brownies
Ingredients
- Unsalted butter: ½ cup (113g), melted
- Granulated sugar: 1 cup (200g)
- Light brown sugar: ½ cup (100g), packed
- Large eggs: 2
- Vanilla extract: 1 teaspoon
- All-purpose flour: ¾ cup (95g)
- Cocoa powder: ½ cup (50g), unsweetened
- Salt: ¼ teaspoon
- Dark chocolate chips or chunks: ½ cup (85g), optional
- Almonds optional
Directions
Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line an 8x8-inch (20x20 cm) baking pan with parchment paper.
Mix Wet Ingredients:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Mix until smooth.
- Add the eggs and vanilla extract, whisking until the mixture is thick and glossy.
Combine Dry Ingredients:
- In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
Make the Batter:
- Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
- If using, gently fold in the chocolate chips or chunks.
Bake the Brownies:
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Avoid overbaking for fudgy brownies.
Cool and Serve:
- Let the brownies cool completely in the pan before slicing into squares.
