Strawberry Syrup

This homemade strawberry syrup is the perfect addition to your pancakes, waffles, ice cream, or even your morning yogurt! With its vibrant color and sweet, fruity flavor, it’s guaranteed to bring a burst of sunshine to any dish. 


Recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb fresh strawberries, hulled and chopped
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the chopped strawberries, sugar, and water. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
  2. Cook for 10-15 minutes until the strawberries soften and the syrup thickens slightly.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in the lemon juice and vanilla extract (if using).
  4. Let it cool slightly before straining out the solids for a smooth syrup, or leave them in for a chunky version.
  5. Store the syrup in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
