Walnut Cake

Ingredients

For the Cake:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup ground walnuts
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (for the batter)

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line an 8-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a bowl, combine flour, ground walnuts, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  5. Stir in vanilla extract.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk, and mix until smooth.
  7. Fold in the chopped walnuts.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
