Ingredients (Serves 4)
- 1 ½ cups boiled chickpeas (chana)
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 1 medium tomato, finely chopped
- 1 small cucumber, finely chopped
- 1 small boiled potato, diced (optional)
- 2 tablespoons fresh coriander, chopped
- 1 green chili, finely chopped (adjust to spice preference)
- ½ teaspoon roasted cumin powder
- ½ teaspoon chaat masala
- ½ teaspoon salt (or to taste)
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon red chili powder (optional, for extra heat)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon tamarind chutney (or date chutney for a milder sweetness)
- ½ cup crispy sev or papdi (for garnish, optional)
- 1 tablespoon yogurt (optional, for a creamy twist)
Instructions

Prepare the Chickpeas
- If using canned chickpeas, rinse and drain them well. If using dried chickpeas, soak overnight and boil until tender.

Mix the Vegetables
- In a large bowl, combine the boiled chickpeas, chopped onions, tomatoes, cucumber, and potatoes.

- Sprinkle roasted cumin powder, chaat masala, salt, black pepper, and red chili powder over the mixture.
- Toss well to combine.
