Chicken Mango Pizza

A unique fusion pizza combining savory chicken, sweet mango, and aromatic anise-flavored sauce for a delightful twist!

Step 1: Prepare the Dough

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups refined flour (250g)
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon yeast
  • 3 tablespoons white butter

Instructions:

  1. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a bowl, combine refined flour, salt, and butter.
  2. Activate Yeast: In a small bowl, mix yeast, sugar, and warm milk. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
  3. Knead the Dough: Gradually add the yeast mixture into the flour, kneading into a soft dough.
  4. First Rise: Cover the dough and let it rest at room temperature for 3-4 hours, until it doubles in size.

Step 2: Make the Anise-Flavored Pizza Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 6 oz tomato paste
  • 8 oz tomato sauce
  • 2 teaspoons freshly ground anise seeds
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon chopped parsley

Instructions:

  1. Grind anise seeds until fine.
  2. Mix all ingredients in a bowl until well combined.
  3. Spread evenly over the pizza dough when assembling.

Step 3: Prepare the Chicken & Toppings

Ingredients:

  • 3 tablespoons oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 250g boneless chicken, diced
  • 1 capsicum, chopped
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 tomato, chopped
  • 1 ripe mango, chopped
  • Salt & black pepper to taste
  • 1 ½ cups mozzarella cheese, shredded

Instructions:

  1. Sauté Garlic & Chicken: Heat oil in a pan, add garlic, and sauté until golden. Add diced chicken and cook until lightly browned.
  2. Add Vegetables: Stir in chopped capsicum, onion, salt, and black pepper. Sauté for 1-2 minutes.
  3. Add Tomatoes & Mango: Quickly toss in the tomatoes and chopped mango, sautéing for just a minute to maintain freshness.

Step 4: Assemble & Bake the Pizza

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Roll out the risen dough and place it in a greased pizza pan.
  3. Spread the sauce evenly over the dough.
  4. Layer cheese: Sprinkle half of the mozzarella cheese.
  5. Add Toppings: Spread the prepared chicken, vegetables, and mango evenly.
  6. Top with Cheese: Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese on top.
  7. Bake: Place in the preheated oven and bake for 10-15 minutes.
  8. Reduce heat to 180°C (350°F) and bake for another 5 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

Step 5: Serve & Enjoy!

  • Slice and serve hot with garlic dip or chili flakes for extra flavor!
