Pepper Steak
Ingredients:
- 1 pound steak, cut into serving portions
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon sugar
- 3 tablespoons red vinegar
- 2 tablespoons water
Instructions:
Season and Cook the Steak:
- Sprinkle the steak portions with black pepper and salt.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Cook the steak until browned, about 5-8 minutes per side.
- Remove from the skillet and place on a warm plate, leaving the drippings in the skillet.
Prepare the Sauce:
- Return the skillet to heat and add the red vinegar, water, and sugar.
- Stir well to mix with the pan drippings.
- Cook until the mixture is almost boiling.
Serve:
- Spoon the sauce over the steaks.
- Serve hot with mashed potatoes, steamed vegetables, or rice.
