Basmati long grain rice 500 grams
Salt to taste
Vegetable oil 100ml
Liquid saffron 4 teaspoons
Unsalted butter 60 grams

Direction:
Soak rice in water for 2 hours. Take 2 liters of water with 3 tablespoons of salt and boil it. Drain the soaked rice and pour it into the boiling water. Boil it for 2-3 minutes. If the rice are soft from the side and firm from center then they are ready. Drain them in colander.
Take oil in saucepan and heat it. Add 2-3 tablespoons of water. When it starts sizzling add one layer of rice across the bottom. Then spread al the rice in a conical shape. Poke 2 -3 holes through the rice to the bottom with a wooden spoon. Wrap the saucepan lid with a cloth and cover the saucepan firmly. On a low flame leave it for 30 minutes. Turn off the heat and add butter. Also add liquid saffron to the rice. Toss the rice and pour them out in a serving dish. Garnish with saffron.
