Chocolate Chip Skillet Cookie

Directions:
Preheat Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Prepare Dry Ingredients:
- In a bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt. Stir to mix and set aside.
Mix Wet Ingredients:
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together butter, brown sugar, and white sugar using a hand mixer or stand mixer until light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).
- Add vanilla extract and egg, mixing until fully incorporated.
Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients:
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Stir in chocolate chips (and nuts, if using).
Bake the Cookie:
- Transfer the cookie dough into a greased or parchment-lined cast iron skillet (about 8 inches).
- Press the dough evenly into the skillet, making sure to spread it to the edges.
Bake:
- Bake for about 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown, and the center is just set. The top should be slightly firm to the touch.
Serve:
- Let the cookie cool slightly before cutting into wedges.
