Traditional Chicken Karahi
A rich and flavorful Pakistani-style karahi, made with tender chicken, aromatic spices, and a thick tomato-based gravy.

Ingredients
- Chicken (cut into pieces): 1 kg
- Salt: to taste
- Red chili powder: 1 tablespoon
- Turmeric powder: 1/2 tablespoon
- Garam masala: 1/2 tablespoon
- Green chilies (chopped): 6-8
- Onions (chopped): 4 medium
- Tomatoes (chopped): 4 medium
- Yogurt: 1 cup
- Ginger garlic paste: 1 tablespoon
- Oil: 1/2 cup
- Fresh coriander leaves (chopped): 1/2 cup
- Ginger (julienne-cut): for garnish
Directions
- In a karahi, add chicken, onions, tomatoes, yogurt, salt, red chili powder, turmeric, garam masala, and ginger garlic paste. Mix well.
- Cover with a lid and cook on medium heat, stirring occasionally.
- Once the water from the tomatoes evaporates and oil separates, add 1 cup of water and cook for another 5 minutes.
- Turn off the flame and add chopped green chilies, fresh coriander leaves, and julienne-cut ginger.
- Cover the karahi for 10-15 minutes to let the flavors infuse.
Serve hot with naan and yogurt chutney for an authentic experience.
