Hummus
A creamy, rich, and flavorful Middle Eastern dip made from chickpeas, perfect as a snack or spread! Ingredients: 1 can (15 oz) chickpeas, drained and rinsed ¼ cup tahini (sesame paste) 2 tablespoons olive oil 2 tablespoons lemon juice 1 garlic clove, minced ½ teaspoon ground cumin Salt, to taste Water, as needed for consistency Optional garnish: olive oil, paprika, chopped parsley, sesame seeds Directions: In a food processor, combine the chickpeas, tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, cumin, and salt. Blend until smooth. If the hummus is too thick, add a little water, a tablespoon at a time, to reach your desired consistency. Taste and adjust seasoning, adding more lemon juice, garlic, or salt as needed. Transfer to a serving bowl and drizzle with olive oil. Garnish with paprika, chopped parsley, and sesame seeds if desired. Serve with pita bread, vegetables, or as a spread for sandwiches.
